The Calumet Shipyard and Dry Dock Company 

The Calumet Shipyard and Dry Dock Company is revered for building quality lake and ocean-going tugs, barges, and river towboats of every size and type. The family-run shipyard built over 150 hulls in total, 37 of which were constructed for the Maritime Commission and U.S. Army during World War II. In addition, the shipyard repaired several vessels with profound historical significance. 

A collection of objects and photographs donated by Marilynn Bickley and Nancy Stanford, granddaughters of shipyard founder James Andrew Rogan, help establish personal connections and a deeper understanding of the impact the shipyard had on the inland water industry and national defense efforts.
