The Chicago Maritime Museum is excited to announce a collaboration with Josh Lipnik, the photographer behind Midwest Modern.
Midwest Modern is a photography and research project documenting the architecture and built environment of the Midwest, with a focus on the legacy of Art Deco and Modernist design across the region.
Opens Thursday, May 1st through Fall 2025
Josh Lipnik is a Detroit-based architectural photographer, writer, and public speaker. A graduate of the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, his photos have been featured in publications including Chicago Reader, Belt Magazine, and Financial Times.
